Five Seniors Awarded Boosters Scholarships at Senior Awards Night

To cheers that rocked the gym five College Park students were each awarded $750 scholarships from the College Park Athletic Boosters at the senior awards night held on Thursday May 27.  The seniors, Benjamin Altman, Hannah Curran, Bryce Halliday, Alan Kinoshito and Kevin Strongman each will receive a check for $750 to be used toward college expenses in the fall. "Our scholarship committee picked the 5 most qualified applicants based on academic and athletic performance as well as coaches evaluations and essays submitted. We consider all those who applied to be winners regardless if they received our scholarship or not" stated Chris Croft, Boosters President. Each year the athletic boosters award five scholarships to senior student athletes based on scholastic performance, participation on an athletic team, coaches recommendations and an essay that addresses the importance of how participation in high school sports helped them to build character and prepare for college as well as for life in general.
